Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute founded in 1972 on the educational services market of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Central Asian Medical Pediatric Institute transferred to the Ministry of Uzbekistan in 1988 and reorganized into the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute. It has graduated more than 29500 highly qualified medical doctors since it was founded. The university is located in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan.

In view of a lack of Pediatricians in the area and a high infant mortality rate in the region, the institute's main objective was to train highly qualified doctors and Pediatricians. A change in name to Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute took place in 1989 by the Uzbek Ministry of Health. Pediatrics has been a major focus of the university for many years. Pediatrics, Pediatrics, medical biology, and medical pedagogical and medical faculties comprise the undergraduate program. Several departments within each faculty offer courses. Students interested in doctoral studies have the option of applying to two doctoral programs. A range of advanced medical courses are also offered at the university for public and private sector workers.

It participates actively in exchange programs and seeks to maintain good relationships with international institutions. It is connected to several universities in South Korea and Russia also.
